Privacy Policy
Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains what information pdflu does and does not collect, in plain language. Last updated: 2026.
The short version
Most pdflu tools process your files entirely within your browser. Your PDF and image files are never uploaded to our servers for these tools — they never leave your device. We cannot access, view, store, or share files you process with our browser-based tools.
Files you process
For our client-side tools (such as merge, split, rotate, compress, watermark, page numbers, organize, sign, image to PDF, and others), all processing happens locally in your browser using JavaScript. Your files are never transmitted to us or any third party. When you close or refresh the page, any file data held temporarily in your browser's memory is cleared.
Some advanced tools may require server-side processing. Where this is the case, it is clearly indicated, files are processed only to perform the requested conversion, and they are deleted immediately afterward. We do not retain, inspect, or share these files.
Information we collect
We use privacy-respecting analytics (Google Analytics) to understand how visitors use pdflu in aggregate — for example, which tools are popular and which countries our visitors come from. This helps us improve the site. This data is anonymized and aggregated; it does not identify you personally and never includes the contents of your files.
Standard technical information — such as browser type, device type, and general location (country or region) — may be collected automatically by our analytics and hosting providers, as is typical for virtually all websites.
Cookies
pdflu uses minimal cookies and local storage, primarily to remember your preferences (such as light or dark mode) and to support analytics. We do not use cookies to track you across other websites.
Third-party services
We rely on a few trusted third-party services to operate pdflu, including a hosting provider to serve the website and Google Analytics for usage statistics. If we display advertising in the future, ad providers such as Google may use cookies to serve relevant ads; you will be informed and given appropriate choices at that time.
Your feedback
If you voluntarily submit feedback through our feedback form, any information you choose to provide (such as your comments or an optional contact detail) is collected so we can read and, if you request, respond to it. Providing contact information is entirely optional.
Children's privacy
pdflu is a general-purpose utility not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
