Why use pdflu for this?
pdflu crops all pages of your PDF at once with precise millimetre control over each side — top, bottom, left and right. The cropping happens entirely in your browser; your document never leaves your device.
Ideal for removing excessive white margins before printing, tightening up scanned documents, or preparing PDFs for e-readers where wasted margin space makes text smaller.
Tips for best results
- Start with small values (5–10mm) and preview the result before trimming more
- The same crop is applied to every page — measure margins from a representative page
- Cropping removes content permanently in the output — keep your original file
- For scanned documents, cropping 10–15mm often removes scanner edge shadows
- E-reader users: cropping margins makes text display larger on small screens
Frequently Asked Questions
Does cropping delete the content in the margins permanently?
In the downloaded file, yes — the cropped area is removed from the visible page. Your original uploaded file is untouched, so keep it if you might need the full pages again.
Can I crop different amounts on different pages?
Not currently — the same margins are applied to all pages. For different crops per section, split the PDF first, crop each part separately, then merge them back.
What units does the crop tool use?
Millimetres (mm). For reference, standard A4 page margins are typically 20–25mm, and 10mm is roughly the width of a fingernail.
Will cropping reduce my PDF file size?
Slightly, but cropping changes page dimensions rather than compressing content. For significant size reduction, use Compress PDF after cropping.
Why does my PDF viewer still show the old page size?
Some viewers cache documents. Close and reopen the cropped file. All standard viewers (Adobe Reader, Chrome, Preview) display the new cropped dimensions correctly.
