Tips for best results

- The watermark is semi-transparent (30% opacity) so the document remains readable
- Watermarks are stamped on all pages — there is currently no option to skip specific pages
- To remove a watermark you added with pdflu, re-upload your original un-watermarked file
- For a 'FOR REVIEW' stamp, consider using all caps for maximum visibility
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I remove a watermark I added with pdflu?
Only if you kept the original file. pdflu permanently embeds the watermark into the PDF. If you saved the watermarked version without keeping the original, the watermark cannot be removed without specialist software.
Can I add an image or logo as a watermark instead of text?
Not currently — pdflu supports text watermarks only. Image watermark support is on the roadmap.
Will the watermark make my document hard to read?
The watermark is set to 30% opacity and placed diagonally, which is intentionally subtle. Text and images in your document remain clearly readable.
Can I change the watermark colour, size, or angle?
Not through the UI currently — the watermark is always large grey diagonal text. These options may be added in a future update.
Is the watermark permanent?
Yes. The text is drawn directly onto each page of the PDF. To get an unwatermarked version, you need to re-upload your original file.
